Editorial articles

For over twenty-five years, writing up editorial articles has been a core (and hugely enjoyable!) element of my work. Such articles are normally based on an informal interview with a company or industry specialist, who indicates key points to be mentioned, delivers supporting information and suggests background reading for further information.  My job is then to create a text which is relevant and interesting for the target audience. Where necessary I will revert for extra input or clarification before returning the draft text for the expert's review.

Joost Wijdeveld, VDL: Carbon capture on ships.

Four-page article in which Mr Wijdeveld kindly explained how a tried and tested technology could be immediately deployed to help reduce carbon dioxide emissions from ships. Published in the November 2023 issue of Carbon Capture World magazine. Click to view via LinkedIn.

Repairing leaky gate valves

Looking to write an article about repairing in-line leaks in gate valves, I had the fortune to meet Calder Machine's Mr Bharath Desingh online. The Teams meeting, write-up and review were completed in less than four hours. Click to view on LinkedIn (originally published in the March 2023 issue of Valve World IME)

Cleaning up the steel sector

Visiting a trade fair I caught up with steel industry expert Rutger Gyllenram, who kindly shared his frank views on options to decarbonize the sector. This interview was published in the November 2023 issue of Carbon Capture World. Click to view on LinkedIn.
